How to update Sony Ericsson Mobile - SE C510 ?

The procedure of updating your Sony Ericsson mobile is a easy but time consuming.
The service don't allow you to directly update your mobile hence you will have to download few applications which are required for update .

I went to my Sony Ericsson account and found few messages from the team about the available new Firmware R1FA035 update for my Sony Ericsson c510 . Before that I had RACA029. So I fallowed their procedure .

If you want to update your mobile then you will find these steps easy.

First Things First :
For this mobile update you will need
1> A Sony Ericsson mobile - hehe :)
2> A USB cable for Sony Ericsson mobile
3> Fully Charged Battery (Not necessarily fully charged)
4> High Speed Internet Connection

Caution
1> Updating your mobile may delete your data from the phone memory .
2> Do it if you have high speed internet connection only like Broadband . Don't do it if you have dial-up connection .Otherwise update will take 2-3 days to complete LoL :D
3> Don't disturb internet connection may cause trouble to your phone .
4> And use original SE-USB cable .

So the good practice is to backup your all data from phone memory to memory stick.
You can save your contact list i.e. you phone book including your phone as well as sim numbers onto the memory stick .

For that go to - Contacts -> Option -> More/Settings -> Advanced ->Back up to memory card . And after doing update you can rollback your contacts again .

But if you don't have any memory stick then I suggest you to use a easy , light application " My Phone Explorer - Free application " . Google it and download it .
The contact from your mobile will get flashed on the screen and you have to just download all the contacts with the help of download button ( down arrow in green).
You can save your sms also .

After taking backup of all your data now you can update your mobile from the Sony Ericsson site .

CLICK ME

Download and install the update service application . Open it then you will have to wait for few more minutes for that update service application to download few more required files .They say your mobiles battery should be fully charged but it is not necessary as I have done update on 30% remaining battery :D

You will have switch off you mobile and remove the battery to free the memory .
Then reinsert battery after few seconds .

After getting this screen but while connecting the phone to your computer you must hold C button on your mobile bkeypad till the update screen says "Release C" or a message like releasing the key C.

The procedure of downloading of firmware will start depending on the speed of your connection you will be given progress bar for download.

After downloading and installing you must disconnect your mobile from the computer and start the phone . For the first time boot your mobile will take around 5 minutes.
But will be completely new with firmware .

Do the preliminary setup of date, time and language and restore your backup of contacts from the memory card with the same path which I have told you earlier .
You are done !!

Remember one thing don't disturb internet connection else you will have to do all the procedure again :D

Take care

Sony Ericsson Satio -12.1 Mega Pixel

Sony Ericsson has announced their new phone Satio . The main focus is given on its camera which is amazingly 12.1 MP . This is the first cell phone in the world to have that much amount of mega pixels .

The main idea is to drag the customers who want to use their mobile as a true digital camera .As in the market there are many digital cameras available which give satisfactory quality of image . So they have developed this camera on the thought that those who want the cell phone with a digital camera will buy it . It can not be compared with the traditional digital camera . As they have digital zoom and best optical lenses. But for a mobile phone it is a big kind of achievement for Sony Ericson .

The specifications given by the company are ,

1> 12.1 Megapixel camera , touch focus ,Xenon Flash and smile shutter :)
2> Gesture Control
3> TV out
4> 8GB microsd memory card
5> 3G Phone
6> WiFi
7> 640 x 360 pixels true 16:9 ,3.5 inches widescreen and 16 million colors TFT

I am a sony ericsson fan from the start . I bought K750i and now have Sony Ericsso c510 but will not buy SE Satio soon .Will need some years to buy it .
Talking about its features I like the design of this cell phone .With design the other feature is the large TFT Screen . You can watch movies on it with ease . With 8GB memory card and with the no error sound of sony you can feel the experience of a movie like in theater on it .

With all these advantages any one can have the power of Sony Ericsson's camera with great quality sound. These features are available in this phone due to the shifting of Satio from Sony Ericsson operating system to Symbian 5th edition Operating system.

Symbain is compatible with most of the applications . And for a product like this the symbain OS is best suitable. In addition to this sony has made another change in the storage media. They have used the microsd card insted of the Memory stick . This is strange but considering size and money the decision is perfectly made by the Sony Ericsson Satio team .

12.1 Mega Pixel Satio was announced in May 2009 and will soon come in the market . I can not say any assumptions about the price of this phone Satio ,let the company decide .
So if you are aiming to buy this mobile then wait for sometime and collect more money till that time . As after buying you will not feel anything left in your pocket :D

My new Sony Ericsson C510 Cybershot

Yes I bought Sony Ericsson C510 cybershot™

Actually my parents gave me 9k INR for buying a new cell phone . But when I went for purchase then found variety of cell phones . One which I liked was K810i . But my friend chetan has bought that camera 2-3 months before . That is the only reason why I did not buy k810i :D But this thing only gave me chance of buying SE C510 . I bought Sony Ericsson C510 Cybershot for 10700 Indian Rupees .

I was aware of the SE C510 but was not knowing complete specifications of it . This phone was launched in Feb 09 . And came in the market So when I went to buy the phone the shopkeeper explained me about its features . Then I bought it and explored it for 4 days in between my exams . And after 4 days of use I got some of the good points :) and few other bad points of this Cybershot™ C510 :(

The specification for you by the manufacturer :
1# 3.2 MP LED Flash
2# Accelerometer - Supports motion gaming
3# Threading in sms - Conversation
4# Large Display
5# Face Detection and smile shutter :)
6# Walkman 3.0 - Bass Reflex headphone
7# 8 GB Expandable memory and 100 MB internal memory
8# Smooth functioning keypad
9# 10hrs battery backup in 2G and 4hrs in 3g network .

Good points to remember :

1. Smile shutter is a advantage if you compare the phone with other cell phones as it the first phone in which this technology is used .

2. Motion gaming is at its best . Sony has made me happy by giving accelerometer in it . Whenever I tilt my phone the screen changes accordingly .

3. Easy to handle new Walkman 3.0 ™ player .

4. Comes with advantage of threaded conversations i.e. threaded sms .

5. Slim design and great looks . Screen is large enough to watch a movie on it .

6. Records video with good quality . Stores video in .MP4 extension :D hehe

Now

Bad points to remember :
1. Camera is not best given by Sony Ericsson . I thought before buying that the Cybershot phone should give me best pictures but this was not so . When I take images in the dark or inside home then the image gets blur. This is because the size of the aperture it is about 1:3.5 which is smaller than other Sony Ericsson phones which have 1:2.5 aperture. The ISO mode and other factors affects the quality of the image . I will modify it toits best after few days . Not now as the camera is new :D
2. Why should I write another bad point if there isn't any other :D

This camera comes in two colors one is the Radiation Silver & Future Black . But it is not complete black it comes with few shade of blue color .

Pictures taken while unpacking SE C510 .

I bought new C510 on 1/06/09

Finally I got this phone and I am happy .After all it is a 3G phone with all the features like EDGE , HSDPA, HSUPA only lack in WLAN . In approximately 11K INR GPS is not given in this phone . But there is no use of GPS in Nagpur as no maps ae made for our city :D

As this is my last phone from my family to me and after this I won't get any from them . I will have to buy other by my own money :D LoL

Sony Ericsson W395 Walkman announced

In this up to date world every one is giving its best , and I think Sony Ericson is doing it better than others . Today Sony Ericsson announced the new W395 Walkman™ phone :) The slider phone is a part of new lifestyle.

The best new thing about this cell phone is that this is supposed to be the best and the most affordable slider walkman phone to date .

If we look at the features of this phone then the Powerful built-in stereo speakers with high quality bass has given a extra effect to it . As a walkman it needs much clear bass.

The motion gaming support is same as Wii-esque . This is exciting to see how the motion controls work . But it can never beat Wii :)

The positive points which I noted down for this phone are like , the phone has a long lasting battery life as a walkman phone .As per Sony Ericsson it can run around 12 hrs and 30 min . Means when in flight mode then no need to recharge the battery.

Another thing which I could say is about the camera . The decent camera with 2MP and Picture Fix feature will definitely help to take much good pics .

The negative points are very few . But the first main point is the nonavailability of flash as it is a walkman phone . So you won't be able to shoot in the dark :(
And other thing is that the internal memory is only 10 MB which is very less as compared to other phones .

But if you have a less budget for buying new cell phone then you should try this.
As per the company the prices will be as low as possible . Hope for the least :D LOL :D

I am waiting for Sony Ericsson W395 Walkman phone to be launched in India ASAP :)
