Minimum System Requirements for Windows 7

I tried and tested Windows 7 on my Acer 5570z laptop . But before installing it I upgraded ram from 512 MB to 2GB . For better performance of Windows 7 your system must have ram above 1 GB.

The changes which I observed in Windows 7 are it is fast , more user friendly , stunning graphics and efficient memory management. Comes with most features of Windows Vista . And the important feature which I observed is the compatibility with old software .

If you want to test your hardware platform for Windows 7 then these are the official statements from Microsoft which you must check .Install Windows 7 if it matches your system :D

Windows® 7 System Requirements

* 1 GHz or faster 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor
* 1 GB RAM (32-bit) / 2 GB RAM (64-bit)
* 16 GB available disk space (32-bit) / 20 GB (64-bit)
* DirectX® 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver.

Product functionality and graphics may vary based on your system configuration. Some features may require advanced or additional hardware.

Some features in earlier Windows versions are not included in Windows® 7. Download Windows Live™ Essentials to get similar programs including Windows Live™ Mail, Photo Gallery, Messenger and Movie Maker for free at download.live.com.
Additional requirements to use certain features:

* Internet access (fees may apply)
* Depending on resolution, video playback may require additional memory and advanced graphics hardware
* For some Windows® Media Center functionality a TV tuner and additional hardware may be required
* Touch functionality requires specific hardware
* Sharing printers and documents requires a network and PCs with Windows® 7
* Music and sound require audio output.

Windows® XP Mode requires:

* Additional 1GB of RAM
* Additional 15GB of available disk space
* Processor capable of hardware virtualization, with Intel® TV or AMD-V® turned on.

Microsoft Windows 7 comes with many variants like Windows 7 Starter,Home Basic,Home Premium,Professional,Enterprise and Ultimate. Windows 7 ultimate is the best version available of all.

Up till now the system has not reported any bug . Now I am WWW i.e. Working With Windows ;)

  2. Yes !! I am going to install it rather upgrade this Windows 7 version to ultimate version .

    The things which I bothered about Ultimate is these are many other advancements (features ) available in ultimate which I am not going to use.

    That is the reason why I am using Windows 7 Home Premium .
